Historically, all crafts relied on the blacksmith for their tools and durable materials. Becoming a modern day smith is difficult because there are very few teachers qualified to teach blacksmithing. Master blacksmith Paul Thorne teaches aspiring smiths this trade based on his many years as a full time working architectural smith and instructor.
